Videographer & Content Creator (Independent Contractor)


Position Overview

Harmonaire Musique is seeking a Videographer & Content Creator to capture the essential artistic and community experiences of its 2026 concert season across Canada.


The role will produce professional video content to document concerts, rehearsals, festivals, tours, artist interviews, and community engagement activities. Videos will be used across Harmonaire Musique’s social media channels, website, promotional campaigns, and other institutional communications.


Assignments include, but are not limited to:

  • Montréal Blue Lounge Concert Series (during March-November 2026)

  • Kingston Cataraqui Chamber Music Festival Residency (Two Weeks – August 2026)

  • Select Canadian National Tour Dates (During June-November 2026)

This is an Independent Contractor position. Harmonaire Musique retains full rights to all video content produced during the contracted period.

Schedule flexibility is required, including evenings and weekends.


Responsibilities

  • Capture and edit video content for social media campaigns, promotional materials, and institutional use (approx. 2–5 assignments/week, depending on project schedule).

  • Film concerts, rehearsals, artist portraits, community activities, and behind-the-scenes footage.

  • Edit and compile professional video clips, including graphics, captions, audio, and transitions as needed, with quick turnaround for social media content.

  • Conduct and film interviews with guest artists, ensemble members, students, and staff.

  • Proactively record unassigned moments that reflect the artistic and community spirit of events.

  • Collaborate with social media or marketing interns/staff as necessary for larger projects.

  • Organize and maintain a digital archive of all video assets for future institutional use.


Requirements

  • Must provide own professional-grade video equipment, including cameras, microphones, computer, and editing software suitable for professional video production.

  • Must have a high-quality mobile device for quick-turnaround clips.

  • Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and social media content production is required.

  • Comfortable directing and conducting interviews, as well as collaborating with artists and staff during shoots.

  • Ability to work discreetly and professionally in live performance environments.

  • Flexibility to travel across Canada and adapt to changing schedules.

  • Familiarity with classical music or performing arts preferred.

  • Professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

  • Vehicle not required but recommended for certain project assignments.


Contract Dates

Project-based engagements throughout the 2026 season, including:

Compensation

  • Competitive, based on experience.

  • Independent Contractor status.

  • Travel and accommodation arrangements for out-of-town projects will be determined on a per-project basis in advance.
