Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Violence


This policy applies to all members of the Harmonaire Musique community (the “Harmonaire Community”), including but not limited to: management, staff, board members, contractors, volunteers, artists, collaborators, audience members, participants, and guests who engage with Harmonaire Musique in any capacity. It also applies to members of the public or other visitors who attend events or programs presented, hosted, or sponsored by Harmonaire Musique.

Harmonaire Musique is committed to maintaining a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and equity. This policy is intended to uphold a culture of mutual respect and to ensure that all forms of interaction within the Harmonaire Community reflect the values of fairness, accountability, and ethical behaviour.

We do not tolerate, ignore, or condone any form of discrimination, harassment, or sexual violence. Harmonaire Musique is dedicated to taking proactive and appropriate measures to prevent and respond to such misconduct in all organizational contexts, including rehearsals, performances, meetings, residencies, and all associated programming.

This policy prohibits discrimination and harassment based on any ground protected under the Canadian Human Rights Act and applicable provincial legislation, including but not limited to: race, ethnicity, ancestry, place of origin, colour, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, family status, and citizenship.

Sexual violence, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will be treated as serious misconduct and may result in disciplinary or corrective action, including removal from programs or events, termination of contracts or volunteer roles, and other legal or institutional remedies as applicable.

All members of the Harmonaire Community are responsible for upholding this policy and for contributing to a safe and inclusive environment for all.
